Population Growth in Chhindwara Tehsil: A Geographic Analysis

Abstract

 In the present research paper, an attempt has been made to study the population growth and changing pattern of Chhindwara tehsil. The study area is situated in the middle of Chhindwara tehsil, district Chhindwara. This tehsil is situated between 21055'-22033' north latitude to 78040'-79010' east longitude. The area of ​​Chhindwara Tehsil is 1332.39 Sq.km. The total population as of 2001 is 431163, the density of the area is 326 persons per square kilometer. In 1991, the population of Chhindwara tehsil was 331354.  This became 431163 in 2001. In 1981, the highest decadal growth was recorded at 30.09. After this, in the subsequent decades, the growth of population was slow; the main objective of the present research paper was population growth, density and changing sex ratio and population growth, density in the five surveyed villages in Chhindwara tehsil in a detailed study.
